**Congratulations to our 2020-2021 Alexis Noggle Scholarship recipient Emily Nguyen**
Hello! My name is Emily Nguyen and I am a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in Physiology (Go Gauchos!). I am 18 years old, I love to swim, sing, and most importantly of all, I am allergic to honeydew. My infatuation with health and medicine began as a way to help my mom with her severe arthritis. After volunteering at medical centers and nonprofits, I was able to truly understand how big of an impact I could make and how I hoped my community could do the same for others. I combined my love for science and working with children in the nonprofit Sunday Friends to raise awareness about STEM involvement. From a young age, science experiments and the challenge of medicine taught teamwork, persistence, and passion. As an aspiring pediatrician, I am excited to inspire a new generation and admire the change they will make.
The Alexis Noggle Scholarship
As a doctor chiropractic medicine I firmly believe that health begins with wellness. It is for this reason that I wanted to begin an annual scholarship program, encouraging more people to engage in careers that promote wellness. This is not limited to students focused solely on Chiropractic medicine, as I also believe that supporting medical practices is essential to the holistic approach I take for each of my patients. The annual recipient of this scholarship will receive $250 to help them on their path to education and training in a related field.
